Knicks Get Back On Track Despite Career Worst Night From Melo

Tyler Durden January 25, 2012 Recaps No Comments

I really can’t put into words how good this win feels. After you lose for so long (I know it was only 6 games but it seemed like an eternity) and play as dejected and unmotivated as this team had a win like this really gets your psyche back in order; both for the team and it’s ankle biting eager fanbase. I don’t care if it was the Bobcats, the Pistons, the 96 Bulls or the fuckin MonStars, a win is a win and winning by 33 is great to get your groove back.

Pros from this game:

- Amar’e looked like the Amar’e of last year. Despite looking out of shape and unhappy the past two weeks Amar’e reminded everyone that he can still ball. Still lacking the burst and take off, like I’ve said and now have been praying for HOPEFULLY the burst comes back by playing more games and getting more cardio.

- Winning despite a poor night from Melo. This is a double sided sword. Knicks win despite Melo having a God awful shooting night; awesome for the team, don’t know how Melo will react. Given Melo’s comments post game “I needed a game like this” and “it’s okay” I’m not too worried about him being pouty.

- Tyson Chandler. 17 rebounds and nasty defense. You can’t teach that.

- Every player was a plus rating on the floor. I try not to put much merit into +/- but when the entire team sustains a good +/- for a game it usually indicates one of two things; good defense and offense from your side or the other team shitting the bed.

Twitter Tidbits:

As per Alan Hahn’s notes;
Regarding Amar’e and his slowly recovery
Regarding Melo and his injuries

Additionally Baron Davis is listed as a game time decision for tonight’s game at Cleveland.
