Goodbye Bill Walker, Hallo Dan Gadzuric

B. Wayne April 20, 2012 #jetLIFE, News No Comments

Sad to report that this afternoon in Cleveland, our beloved Knickerbockers said goodbye to an old friend.

Yes, I regret to inform all that the reports are true. The Knicks have waived the infamous William Henry Walker aka Bill “Sky” Walker aka Billy Buckets aka Sanka Coffie from ‘Cool Runnings’. To replace Walker, (though Bill can never truly be replaced in the hearts of Knick fans) the Knicks have signed 34-year-old center Dan Gadzuric, a jolly Dutchman who used to always fuck our lives up when he was on the Bucks.

Though I’m not sure Gadzuric is still capable of bending over and lacing up his wooden clogs, nevermind being able to contribute on the basketball court, he is definitely a welcomed addition as a backup big who can somewhat board and block someone’s shot. In garbage time.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t take this time to aptly honor the two-year Knickerbocker tenure of Bill Walker. I think the above pic pretty much sums Walker’s stint in NY in a nutshell. Confused.

I’ll never forget the good times we had, Bill. Like when you politely told Andrew Bogut to “PUT ANOTHER SHRIMP ON DA BARBIE BEEE-ITCH”. Or that time you inadvertently banked in a three from the wing to give us the lead at halftime against the Heat last year. Or that other time in Miami this year when you somehow hit seven threes and kept us in the ballgame.

It’ll also be hard to forget the countless dumb fouls and turnovers, the time KG almost choked you out but you held your ground like the Christmas thug that you are. Also who can forget that one time you actually passed the ba—oh wait, nevermind.

And of course, your infamous songwriting abilities will truly be missed.

‘Twas the best of times…it was the worst of times. Happy trails, Bill. Go, be merry and celebrate 4/20 like only you can.
