R.I.P. Chris Lighty

Hip-hop lost an icon today as multiple reports have confirmed the death of renowned executive Chris Lighty, 44, due to an apparent suicide.

Lighty founded Violator Management in 1989 and was instrumental in launching the careers of a multitude of big-time artists including Busta Rhymes, 50 Cent,  Fat Joe, A Tribe Called Quest, Mariah Carey and more.
