Jets Begin Final Cuts; Trim Roster Down To 60

Below are this morning’s cuts from Florham. Casualties include standout linebacker Marcus Dowtin (who had an impressive game in Philly last night), Jay Richardson (who’s looked great all preseason) and sixth-round draft pick Robert Griffin. Strange that they would cut a draft pick, especially given the shallow depth of the OL.

As for scrubs like Posey, Simms, and Matt Kroul…don’t let the door hit you on the ass on the way out. Tanny and company now have until 9 PM to make seven more cuts and finalize the 53 man roster.

Potential candidates for unemployment include WR Royce Pollard, CB Donnie Fletcher, TE Hayden Smith, and LB Ricky Sapp.
